This is a very extensive chapter, but not for the construction of pressure line pipelines, rather than those without pressure, and for constructing thermoplastic materials like sumps, tanks, hoods, vents, fans, etc., with the hot-air joint technology with the addition of external materials.
These welders can be manual, with a centralised air supply within the plant, or with an incorporated automatic fan for use on site, where a centralised air supply is not available.
The procedure for this technique is based on the passage of air through an area where it is heated up, and emerging through a well-defined channel on the welder, simultaneously heating the welding wire, which must exit the nozzle and join the external parts to be welded. If the welding of thicker material is required, an extruder is used instead of a hand welder, which operates according to the same principle, simultaneously heating both the welding material and the area of the joint.
This technology is used for all thermo-plastic materials and in this case PE, PP, PVDF, ECTFE, PFA, FEP and PVC.
Monitoring of the welding with the added material is carried out using a spark test, which immediately identifies critical points where is no seal at a high discharge voltage of 20,000 V, by discharging high voltage provided that a metal counter pole has been inserted.
All of the accessories and monitoring methods are part of Hürner Italia S.r.l.’s equipment program.
