Counter-current scrubbing in mono or multistage

Hürner Italia Srl provides a multi-stage process for the production of Nitric (HNO3) from NOx contaminated waste gases. In the first stage of the tratment system, depending on the concentration of NOx in the waste gases, HNO3 is recovered with the highest possible concentration. Subsequently, a second or even third absorption stage are employed, which are fed with an oxidizing agent, mostly hydrogen peroxide or ozone. The nitrous acid, obtained as an intermediate processing products, is easily decomposable  and will the be oxidized to nitric acid, increasing the total recovering capability of the treatment plant. The nitric acid can be re-used for many purposes.
