The liner of ECTFE – Ethylene chlorotrifluoroethylene – is a copolymer, its molecular chain contains, in a repetitive fashion, one ethylene element followed by one chlorotrifluoroethylene element: thanks to this structure, ECTFE – Ethylene chlorotrifluoroethylene – is physiologically applicable without limitations, resists high temperatures of up to 150°C also for extended periods, and is one of the most resistant thermoplastic against irradiation and weather conditions. The high resilience of this material mixes with good mechanical strength: values do not vary greatly in the entire temperature range. The smooth surface of the components of this material is no base for the growth of microbiological fauna, so it can be used in the food and microchips manufacturing industries. This material, like also other thermoplastics, is easy to weld and work.
The fire resistance rating is V-0 according to UL 94 standard, so, this material is ranked as self-extinguishing.
The ECTFE line includes pipes from OD 20 mm to OD 160 mm with synthetic mesh backing system and sheets with 2,3 and 3,0 mm wall thickness in rolled or normally execution with fiberglass or synthetic mesh backing system with thermosetting resins reinforcing.
