FRP Lining

Hürner Italia S.r.l. liners are divided into two types of backing systems for the reinforcing material:

• Grip to a chemically treated surface for PVDF pipes and fittings;
• Grip to another material, which is mechanically applied to pipes or sheets;

While strong gripping to chemically treated surfaces of thermoplastic pipes or fittings is achieved by the polyester resin, choices from among four different types of mats or meshes are available for sheets or pipes of other materials:

• Polyester;
• Synthetic;
• Glass;

The most commonly used material for mats is polyester, which features good chemical resistance, yet cannot exceed the temperature of 100°C because of its limited resistance to hydrolysis.

The synthetic mat/mesh is universal, because it is highly resistant to hydrolysis, acids, resists high temperatures and efficiently grips on the lining material.

The last type of mats/meshes is glass, which can be applied to all basic materials, resists high temperatures, can be thermoformed without any damage to the mat and strongly grips on any strengthening material.
