Hürner Italia S.r.l. PP is a thermoplastic material that is available in the PPH - Polypropylene homopolymer - and in PPR - Polypropylene random copolymer - versions. Both materials are resistant to high temperatures and can be applied up to 100°C when no strong pressure stresses are present.
Pipes and fittings of this ventilation line are mostly made out of PPH - Polypropylene homopolymer -, whose mechanical resistance is slightly better than PPR - Polypropylene random copolymer -. All injection molded fittings, instead, are made out of PPR - Polypropylene random copolymer -. The color of PP is light beige - RAL 7032 - and has no protection against UV rays; so, it is only suggested for the installation of ducts inside buildings. When this material is installed outdoors, color changes over time, although this does not affect the mechanical resistance of the duct. A white oxidation film caused by the UV rays may form on the surface, but, at the same time, it is a kind of barrier to the further oxidation of the material underneath.
The fire resistance rating of PP - Polypropylene homopolymer and copolymer is B2 according to DIN 4102 standard and 94-HB according to UL 94 standard, so this is not a self-extinguishing material.
DIN 4741-1 standard provides guidelines for the minimum piping thickness, while the DIN 4741-2 standard indicates thicknesses for PP socket fittings.
The size range in the Hürner Italia S.r.l. program has expanded and reaches diameters made by thermoforming in a single piece of OD 1000 mm like bends, while tee 90° reductions or adjustment flanges or deflector cowls are manufactured in the factory.
