PE

PE – polyethylene - is the polyolefin thermoplastic material that is most commonly used in civil piping and, to a lesser extent, in industrial applications. This material is available on the market in the PE 100 bimodal version, which has replaced the previous PE 80 monomodal and the subsequent PE 80 bimodal version. PE 80 is still manufactured for piping (particularly for gas distribution), they can be welded to both materials. An exception is the PE EL line, which is fully manufactured with PE 80.

PE pipes, fittings and valves comply with UNI EN 12201 part 1 – 7 standard for drinking water pipes and UNI EN 1555 part 1-7 standard for methane gas and comply also with DIN 8074 e 8075 German standards for piping and DIN 16963 part 1-15 for fittings.

The standarts for PE pipes and fittings are also UNI EN ISO 15494 Pipelines in PB (polybutene), PE (polyetylene) and PP (polypropylene) for industrial applications under pressure and UNI EN 13244 Pipelines in PE (polyetylene) for conveying liquids under pressure above- and underground cover the industrial applications.
