For many years, this line has been limited to the flexible PVC liner, which was the only thermoplastic material available on the market, easy to work and apply. It was used to line vessels, tanks, columns, etc. The red color liner was easily identified and the quality of the liner was understood right away.
The application field is well defined as far as the temperatures and the products with which the liner can be in contact with are concerned. The main application of this liner is in electroplating plants, while is less common for industrial process equipment, where operating temperatures are often higher.
This unexploited field with high temperatures has been the reason why Hürner Italia Srl has introduced flexible PVDF or PFA thermoplastic liner in its lining program. These liners resist high temperatures and also the strong attack of many corrosive liquids, where flexible PVC was unsuitable.
The advantage of flexible PVDF liner is that, after being used at high temperatures, it does not create internal stresses due to temperature variations, thus preventing damages to the liner.
As a liner, PFA can stand a broader temperature range than flexible PVDF and, depending on the glue used, can reach temperatures up to 150°C or, if mechanical fixing is used, up to 250°C.
Hürner Italia Srl technical department is at your disposal to suggest the most suitable liner for your application.
