Ventilation

Conveyance of polluted air with piping, fittings and accessories as well as fans to convey this air outside or to the purification plant

Industrial ventilation plants installed by Hürner Italia Srl are divided into two groups:

  • Conveyance of highly corrosive gaseous fluids;
  • Conveyance of corrosive gaseous fluids with solids.

Thermoplastics used for the Ventilation lines meet chemical resistance and abrasion requirements, considering that all non-anti-static materials develop electrostatic charges and, consequently, are unfit for explosion areas.

Available materials are PP (polypropylene), PPS (self-extinguishing polypropylene), PPS EL (anti-static self-extinguishing polypropylene), PVC (polyvinyl chloride), PVC-B (white polyvinyl chloride), PE (polyethylene), and PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride).

Each line of material includes a wide range of fittings characterized by different joint systems. The most common type includes socket ends, and joining is made by hot air welding with filler material while the chemical gluing is only used for PVC. As far as PVDF and PPS EL are concerned, in addition to the socket joint, a line of fittings with butt fusion connections is also available.

If the joint cannot be made by traditional techniques in the work yard, Hürner Italia Srl suggests socket fittings with built-in gasket. Advantages are easy assembly and the opportunity to join different materials, maintaining the tightness of the socket unchanged.

Sizes

The pipe range includes a wide array of diameters. In the extruded version, OD diameters can vary from 50 mm to 1400 mm. The lowest thicknesses of PP ventilation pipes are set out in DIN 4741 part 2 standard, while for the other materials, for which no standard is available, they are defined by the extrusion process, which requires a minimum structural thickness that varies according to the diameter.

Pipes or formed fittings of any diameter whose size is not included in production standards can be made through rolling and welding of sheets.

Application

The main application field of PVC pipes is the electroplating industry; PP pipes are mostly used in chemical and metalworking companies and paper-mills. PPS EL pipes and fittings are particularly suitable for ATEX classified areas and are widely used in pharmaceutical companies, where alcohol and solvents, which are easily flammable and explosive, are used in production processes. PVDF pipes are used in the microelectronics industry for the production of microchips. The reason why they are so common in this industry is the high purity of the raw material, which releases no residues that might dilute the product conveyed; additionally, PVDF resists peak temperatures of up to 150°C.

PE pipes are ideal for civil installations in water treatment plants, since they are UV ray stabilized and are the most suitable for being laid outdoors. PPS, instead, is mostly used in factories and civil buildings, like hospitals, universities, etc., since it is a self-extinguishing material with a very high ignition temperature and only burns, when in direct contact with flame; so, it goes out as soon as it is taken away from flames.

Hürner Italia Srl offers the most suitable material for ventilation systems for all application needs.
